Video of Ferguson police gassing newscrew and dismantling their equipment

“We don’t want you here” “We don’t want you to get hurt”
How’s that for a very thinly veiled threat? I’m hoping to see some lawsuits from all the reporters.

I find it interesting the armored vehicle in the video is from St. Charles County, not St. Louis County.

I see no reason for the press to be fired upon like that with tear gas and rubber bullets. If they wanted them to leave, they should have just approached them and asked them to leave if the subdivision they were in was so dangerous.

Welcome to the future of United Socialist States of Amerika. Unless the press does their real job an become journalists who are politically neutral and report the truth and the people start electing responsible politicians who will reign in the police, this will be repeated again in the future. It could be in Ferguson again, or neighboring Florissant, Hazelwood, Bridgeton, Spanish Lake, a town near you, or in your own home town.

You’ve never even met a real socialist in your entire life, man.

The took the lights down because it interferes with their low light vision equipment. Bet they were asked to leave too. They probably had guys with rifles looking for Obama leeches with guns who are looking to shoot police. The media.s lights were a threat to the police officers safety.

Atlas yawned…

Heh.

My in-law’s comment on an article about how Scandinavians have good maternity leave:

No society should pay its people to reproduce.

“Decency, security and liberty alike demand that government officials shall be subjected to the same rules of conduct that are commands to the citizen. In a government of laws, existence of the government will be imperiled if it fails to observe the law scrupulously. Our Government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the Government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. To declare that, in the administration of the criminal law, the end justifies the means … would bring terrible retribution. Against that pernicious doctrine this Court should resolutely set its face.” - Justice Louis Brandeis, dissenting in 277 U.S. 438 Olmstead v. United States, June 4, 1928

That was my thought as well. “We don’t want you to get hurt” from the ones doing the hurting. Priceless.

I can see the threat. I thought about the choice “We don’t want anybody to get hurt.” That would’ve have been a broader concern about safety, but that can sound sinister sometimes.

Yep.

To all the Statists who mock the opposition as ‘wingnuts’ and ‘conspiracy-theorists’ and ‘moonbats’-Ferguson is what a police state looks like.

A nod to BoingBoings punk roots:
“The comfort you demanded is now mandatory.”

Imagine if it had been a nuclear missile!

Imagine if it had been a pile of diamonds!

Imagine if it had been a giant pizza!

Wait, what were we talking about again? Oh right, Reality, in which it was… a news camera.

This is exactly what happened in Oakland during the worst of some of the Occupy and Oscar Grant marches. The night that a veteran had his skull fractured by a beanbag round, followed by a flash bang tossed at the people trying to give him first aid, no one was willing to clearly say “I’m in charge” because we had PD from Oakland, San Leandro, Berkeley, Alameda, Alameda County, CHiP, San Pablo, Albany, and I think even SF on scene.

The police are regressing to their past. And as they get dumber, they get bolder and bolder.

Really? I never have met a socialist??? Gee, I wonder where I was then when I visited one of my titanium suppliers - the largest titanium supplier in the Russia Federation (formerly the USSR). Have you ever been to Russia? Ever hear of VSMPO-Avisma?

I have been to Russia - about 900 miles east of Moscow for 3 weeks. VSMPO-Avisma is located in Verkhnyaya Salda, Russia. Where’s the closest airport? A 3 hour drive to the south in Yekaterinburg. While most of the people in Salda were very welcoming and friendly with no animosity to Americans, there were definitely quite a few who are holdovers with the old socialistic cold war attitude. And they had many stories about living under the old communist/socialist system.

So, before you pass judgement on somebody, make sure you have your facts in order. So now you can go look up VSMPO-Avisma, VSMPO-Tirus (the California warehouse for forgings, ingot and billet imported from Salda), and Google map locations for Salda and Yekaterinburg and verify what I’ve posted.

So, can you say you’ve been that close to people who actually grew up and lived in a true communist/socialist system?

I’d argue that the main reason no one was willing to clearly say “I’m in charge” is because that would mean taking responsibility for critically wounding said veteran.

Well of course.

I can recognize trolls when I see them, too.
If he’d been shot when he was allegedly attacking the cop, that might have been one thing.
But he was shot running away with his hands up.
If the police had video showing otherwise, they’d certainly have released it very widely by now.

Was messing with the cameras “theft under color of law” as well as being a civil rights violation?

Well, being as you seem to think you’re headed towards a ‘united socialist states of America’, I’m more than inclined to think you’re utterly deluded, even if you have been on an aeroplane somewhere. And going to Russia for work != knowing anything about, or being acquainted with any actual socialists, Bubba.
