Only tangentially related: when I saw Pulp Fiction in the theater a couple behind me had the following conversation during the first few minutes:
Woman: I’ve seen this before. I’ve seen this. It was on TV.
Man: [chuckling loudly] You’re dumb! This ain’t never been on TV.
Woman: I know I’ve seen this.
Man: [chuckling more] There ain’t no way you coulda seen this! They don’t put nothing like this on TV.
At this point I turned around. The man chuckled more and said, “See? Now you gotta be quiet about the TV.”
They were quiet after that.
