The building on the right is the county courthouse. In previous years the city closed the area prior to rain, but this year other options are described in the article.
“Unhoused people living in the “Benchlands” a city-sanctioned tent encampment in the San Lorenzo Park fled for shelter on Monday, wading through floodwaters. According to Smith employees have been on the ground since Sunday, encouraging people to relocate.”

This would require that American governments see “helping people” as part of their mandate, which I am not certain is true. The whole things reeks of gasp socialism!

Looks grim.
Also looks like the major city budget items of “keeping us safe,” “providing necessities,” and “ensuring quality of life,” might need to be revisited, since it’s obviously not doing any of those things for this part of the community. :pleading_face:
