The cat did not leave because of the snack-dog. I think there was a murderbeast of the feline variety under that table giving the lion a death stare.
“No, you can’t eat it, lion. That is my dog. If you eat the dog, my human will be upset and forget to feed me. This is my house. Leave before I tear you to pieces with my tiny claws!”
