Watch a rare "Corpse Flower" bloom while far away from the smell of death

While this particular species may be rare it’s fascinating to me that there are quite a few plants that have “rotting flesh flowers” designed to attract flies. And while I don’t want to stick my nose in any of 'em I do think they’re all unusual and beautiful.

I especially like stapeliae which remind me of starfish.

Wait, this is a live feed. That means you may need to watch for a very very long time.

I thought the smell is half the fun.

Is that scientific name a troll or just on the nose? Is it saying something like dick-shaped titan or is that my weak shadetree etymology? “This is a dick shaped plant, of the giant variety.”
