Reliable self-driving cars are probably at least a decade away, but limited autopilot and internet connected vehicles would make it trivial for municipalities to require a police override, which privacy aside will of course combine the insecurities of IoT and backdoor access.

Yep, I think you’re right… Personally, I want the upside of connected cars, but am super leery of the security vulnerabilities they would present.

In fairness, although the title says “high speed chase” I didn’t see any pursing police car. They could have just been trying to stop a manic.
