All the luck to those making the effort, but it wonā€™t make any difference. Ignorant conservatism has a long and documented history of facts not getting in the way of their belief systems, and decisions based on how they want the world to be rather than how it is.

South Florida Mayors Tell Rubio, Bush: ā€˜Climate Change Is Realā€™
by Gina-Marie Cheeseman on Friday, Jan 29th, 2016

Florida floodsThe mayors of 15 South Florida cities have a message for Sen. Marco Rubio and former Gov. Jeb Bush. They want the Republican presidential candidates to see that climate change is happening and it is already affecting their home state.

Climate survivors who are private citizens is one thing. Mayors and other officials addressing the Floridian Presidential (and other) candidates is another. Unfortunately, as Upton Sinclair, another damned Socialist, wrote, ā€œIt is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.ā€

This is what we need to change, though.

Republican politicians used to support environmental issues all the time. Teddy R. created the national parks, Nixon created the EPA, and as recently as the late 1980s and early 1990s Republicans largely crafted the international agreements that helped stem seriously problems like pollutants responsible for acid rain and the hole in the ozone layer. This ā€œIā€™m a Republican and therefore must oppose any kind of environmental regulationsā€ thing is actually a relatively recent phenomenon.

Why are they singling out Rubio. You cannot be elected as a republican unless you deny climate change. Itā€™s part of their tribal chant (along with ā€œTake our country backā€ and ā€œBenghaziā€, etc). The fact that it snows is proof enough that climate change is a ā€œhoax.ā€

Plus, what does Rubio care? When you hear him speak so glowingly about ā€œspending eternity next to his creatorā€-- How could he possibly care about the flooding and ecological mess he leaves behind when heā€™s dead? He will be next to his creator.

Because heā€™s the US Senator from Florida who happens to be running for President. Theoretically heā€™s EXACTLY the person they should be petitioning to represent their interests at the national level.

But heā€™s fighting like hell to get out of Florida, heā€™s worked hard, went through law school, did time municipally, finally he got to the Senate but still for Florida and his shitheel constituents will even follow him to Washington as well as demand he visit Florida regularly.

Thatā€™s why heā€™s shooting for the moon, if he can be President he wonā€™t have to visit Florida again ever and he can do even more work to increase emissions than he does as a Senator and before long Americaā€™s Dick will sink below the waves forever!

Why else would he chair this committee United States Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Oceans, Fisheries, Climate Change and Manufacturing - Wikipedia if he didnā€™t intend to expand the Oceans using the Atmosphere to create new Fisheries and fewer jobs at the Coast Guard? Itā€™s all his hate on for Florida.

And I have to say, while I disagree with his methods, the only thing better that wonā€™t visit Florida has got to be canā€™t visit Florida (because it dropped into the ocean)
