And now that loathesome toad Lindsey Graham is up, trying to have his cake and eat it too. Time’s up, you slimy punk. We know what you are.
Watching his vacillation, I couldnt figure out whether he was in favor or not.
They’re roll call voting in the Senate right now - over the objections some still claim.
Soon
While most of the mob were MAGAheads, I wonder if some of them were part of a group with specific goals and targets?
I hope all the video/security feeds get to a good analysis team to trace the individual movements, and separate the hands from the sock-puppets.
The amount of aimless and pointless wandering around and low grade vandalism suggests that if there are “operators” among this gang of idiots, it was a small contingent. Of course, that is how it would be, wouldn’t it?
I enjoyed some of those full-throated “no’s”.
Looking forward to seeing the full list of those who voted “aye”. Always useful to know which politicians support fascist insurrectionists and terrorists. I’m going to put this long topic on Normal and bow out for the night.
Cruz, Hawlings & Tuberville have voted to sustain the objections.
Awaiting tally to see what the final tally is.
I’m mainly pissed that our highest representation of lawmaking in our country was effectively breached by a bunch of folks who cannot explain the difference between Communism, Socialism, and Soviet…cannot explain the difference between Liberal, Leftist, or Fascist…cannot fathom the idea that they are the ones who are destroying our country.
I see the cops haven’t completely forgotten how to arrest people…
6 voted to sustain the objections- it’s over in the Senate.
No idea who the other three are yet.
Meh. His spokesperson is trying to shore up what’s left of his power. On NPR today she said the incoming senate and congress should take things very slowly and not do anything too progressive “like the Green New Deal” or they will face responses like these people taking over the building.
I couldn’t respond to this earlier (busy getting my go-bag ready just in case ) but it’s more nuanced than that. A lot of the younger, mainly rural voters like her, too. She has seniority on committees that mean she can funnel money to our shipyards and fisheries, and that means jobs. They just don’t see how huge tax cuts for the rich impact their everyday lives. Or how an insanely conservative SCOTUS fucks up the lives of “others” doesn’t really impact them and their day to day existence. Or lack of action on climate is screwing us all over. I think it’s a lot of short term vs long term thinking. I only bother to mention it because it’s one of the ways they keep winning.
Probably just a staffer’s car.
Oh, good, so extortion, then.
That sounds very much like a terrorist threat. FBI, are you listening?
It’s US policy that we don’t negotiate with terrorists.
Has that changed.
I only bother to mention it because it’s one of the ways they keep winning.
I think this is really true, and something few Democrats seem to get.
I must also thank these good-for-nothing fucks for likely interrupting ANY SORT OF PROGRESS towards resolving the stimulus package for January, since now administrative tasks (even at state level) are going to be diverted to cleaning up a lot of political mess.
US citizens are months behind on rent, going hungry, going without medication, you name it. Not to mention likely kicking off a new super-spreader event. This didn’t have to happen.
