Ah sends chills down the spine for sure. Reminds me of seeing Peter Murphy perform from the front row in a jazz club around 2012. Having him hold eye contact felt like a conduit into this supremely graceful upright dark and dirty presence. I see that effortlessly perfect back posture even then in the video.
I never thought of them as creep-a-billy.
Maybe it’s the extremely low-fi set-up.

I could pop into that room on the way home tonight, but all I’d see is big TV sports. The Romany was just around the corner from our school, so its car park was a regular spot for 80s hijinks. They’ve never really capitalised on being the location of Bauhaus’ second gig, sadly.
