Most of the laugh tracks on television were recorded in the early 1950’s. These days, most of the people you hear laughing are dead.

I guess some context would be in order. Even since I read that comment, I’ve been unable to enjoy old TV shows. I don’t think they use laugh tracks any more, do they? They sound so synthetic.
