Technically, it’s a manhole frame (cover and cylinder) as described in the video. A+ for the Scarry reference!

But asphalt needs to be extensively compacted in order to properly fill the void around the manhole bell, otherwise water gets in ruins things again.
Agreed. I’m also not sure how well that PVC (?) spacer ring will hold up. There didn’t seem to be much of a lip bearing on the poured concrete.
Anywho, around here, they actually prefer them just slightly low so the plow trucks don’t catch a blade.
Not in plow country anymore, but agree with that sentiment on any plastic ring.
