I’m no plumber, but it looks like they are maybe lining the pipe.
That made me uncomfortable.
That’s pretty cool. Like some sort of plumbing angioplasty.
I thought the same. It’s pretty impressive that they measured the amount of liner needed so precisely, with only like a foot of extra out the end.
IRL LOLZ. Thanks for that.
yeah, this isn’t “pipe cleaning” per-se/if-you-will-as such; this is relining of pipes via a technology that one of the originators calls “a soft robot”. here’s the original leading video, which is quite cool describing the various uses of the uh… pulling_the_sock_inside_out tech.
I’ve always wondered how a Plumbus was made.
I had an old damaged 16" storm drain a dairy plant where I used to be the environmental manager, we brought in a company that mapped all the inlets with a robot, lined the broken pipe just like that, and then sent the robot back in to cut holes in the liner for the other inlets. It was incredible, and a fraction of the cost of digging up and replacing the line.
Help? Since 5 days ago, all Reddit links have suddenly er…been replaced by a massive unclickable logo on Chrome. Been on here many years, any other Boingers wanna help a Boinger out?
Ban this sick filth!
This looks like an animal husbandry simulator to my untrained eye.
So that’s how hotdogs are made.
I used to get the reddit embeds until recently, too. now all I get (on firefox) is blank space; no logo, no nothing on the permalink. there is a thumbnail image on blog view, followed by empty space where the embed goes.
it’s sometimes cool because the embeds would autoplay once you scrolled to them. but now I don’t get to see the ones that seem interesting.
I assumed it was one of my myriad script-blockers, but now I’m not sure since it happened to you on chrome. or, my script-blockers are available on chrome and you’re running them, too?
Was not expecting the rosebud
Somehow I now strongly associate Mark Frauenfelder with peddling pipe unclogging products and techniques. I wonder why this is such a subject of interest. Might it be revealing of a sexual fetish? Or maybe he lives in a really badly designed house?
Sleight-of-hand over series of tubes? Tailored sleeves via React?
Was your card the food-safe plenum of diamonds?
That’s a bold choice of colors from the design department.
