Also, historian! Arguable, the first serious historian of black life in America.
I’ve been thinking lately that if he were around today, by some miracle, he’d think the problem of the 21st century is STILL the color line, and he wouldn’t be wrong. His work is still relevant.

Dude was Tufte before being Tufte was cool.
That spiral graph is an interesting presentation. Not sure I’ve seen that format of histogram before.
