This is still a thing?
Do sites still have to pay to be nominated?
The 19th Annual Webby Awards are coming up in a few months and they’re now taking submissions for all their categories where your funny video, web series, Twitter account, etc. could, in a way, win the Internet.
The early deadline is Oct. 24th and the final deadline is Dec. 20th. The submission fee is high, ranging from $150-$595 based on what you’re entering, it might be worth it if you win and get a statue at the big ceremony.
When you have to pay to play for a contest. It’s like one of those “Send us your recipe and we’ll publish it in a BOOK for only 100 dollars…additional copies available for 50 dollars each to share with your friends”.
