When the points of light from the beads are smaller than the pixels on the sensor, they only land on some of the subpixels, with the random pattern leading to the random colours.
Amirite?
This sounds plausible, but it could also just be an oily coating on the marbles.
Except that you can see there’s no colour from the inset that’s a detail from a zoomed-in shot of the beads.
