This post is a good companion piece with Zeni’s, on how poorly medical experts currently understand the virus and its effects (e.g., while ventilators were such a big deal a week ago, turns out almost 90% of those put on them die anyway).
It seems that at this point, what everybody knows is indeed shit fuck.

Depends on where. UCSF only lost one person on a vent. I think because UCSF had a low enough number of cases that they could still devote substantial time to each one.

Some hospitals in the UK have better survival rates with early ventilation, but that needs the hospitals to have enough ventilators in the first place and the UK as a whole doesn’t.
