Let me just note that this appears to be in continuity with the Dune Encyclopedia, based on that description.
WOW.
Good stuff. Love the tie to Dune canon.
The description was awesome, but “the God Emperor determined that only 4 displayed the depth of talent and mental adaptability to become Musical Mentats” and “nameless musical geniuses” is a little over the top.
Bought it. I may only listen once, but this level of dedication to both elements of the source material should be rewarded!
I’m pretty sure that at least some of those synthesizers wouldn’t have made it through the Butlerian Jihad.
We already know what Tangerine Dream would have sounded like doing a soundtrack to Dune:
Now we need, I dunno, Faust maybe? Popol Vuh could definitely make one.
It’s listenable and enjoyable, but it ain’t Kraftwerk.
Thanks for playing me out from Hans Zimmer Claustrophobia.
El baile alemen is such a good album…
Klaus Schultze went there too.
So what happens when you get Wormsign? Do they all dance in a chorus line?
But I don’t want to attract the worm!
Senor Coconut FTW !
It’s amazing the impact Frank Herbert has had on popular conciousness.
Now this is what I call a mostly wonderful thing.
+1. Whoever did this doesn’t really “get” Kraftwerk.
And those guys too!
