they also thought that people would have to use a different tablet for each report. i couldn’t find the picture but i remember a ds9 episode that had sisko with a pile of tablets on his desk and him complaining about all the work.

Or the timothy zahn star wars novels where people kept stacks and stacks of data cards to hold their libraries. Instead of using server architecture.

You can actually buy an updated 4G compatible unlocked version of the 8110 now. It’s only $75 on amazon.
