The first theater I recall seeing one of these wackball carpets was in the Mall of America. They had the space themed carpet, and it seemed a little too on the nose to me - we were there to see Star Trek: Generations.

…and hotel convention center carpet. Heck, the carpet at DragonCon has its own cosplayers.

I didn’t consciously realise until just now how poignant I find 90s movie theater carpet. It’s almost as evocative as Trapper Keeper artwork.
