Not only did she pull that off flawlessly, she also managed to expertly perform clone a pretending to be clone b without just acting as the latter.

OK I confess I hadn’t been paying much attention to the Little Mermaid remake since I prefer the animated originals but I heard some more pearl clutchers complaining about casting a Black woman as Ariel and I thought they said “Halle Berry.” So my first thought was “fuck the racists… but isn’t she a bit on the mature side to play a 16-year-old girl?”
Today I saw they actually cast Halle Bailey, a doubtlessly talented person I’m probably just too old to be familiar with, so my confusion has abated somewhat.
I think the response to all the pearl clutchers needs to be, “grow up.”

Amazon just announced they aren’t doing season 2 of Paper Girls. Hope someone else picks it up. It was one of the best shows I’ve seen it a while. You couldn’t predict what would happen next.
