I remember Peter Jackson made some reference to the “potatoes” controversy on the director’s commentary track for the movie. His reaction was much the same: “you can accept all the magical elements and creatures in this fantasy story set on a fictional continent but you can’t accept that Middle-Earth has potatoes?”
Everyone seems to assume that Middle Earth is in a vaguely European location but maybe it was somewhere in South America all this time?
I posted the original CNN article in one of the asshole threads… Wonkette’s take is absolutely correct…
I thought this topic was outdated/forgotten since Mr. Tuvok.
I’ve never heard of this. Is it a film or a TV series?
Oh, wait, filums are on the other thread, aren’t they?
Forget first two questions, is it any good?
I think most of us use this thread for films, too… it’s a movie… Idris Elba, Tilda Swinton, directed by George Miller…
Thanks muchly…
Right? Vulcan is a desert world. White people should have been the minority there. Planet full of melanin.
My headcanon just says during this age women Dwarves wished to be progressive and different and shave their beards as an act of societal rebellion.
New boss (“we need to show both sides” ).
Half-way (ep3) through Moon-Knight.
Never read the comics, never knew the premise, came into it blind.
Gotta say, it’s a lotta fun.
Daredevil crossover!
And it indeed looks like they are going after Sandman, too…:
I mean, sounds good to me!
Also, have they STILL not greenlit season two! WTF?
I’m looking forward to Neil continuing to, in his very elegant Gaiman way, telling them to stfu.
I am tired of this shit. Though I do admit I might never have picked up She-Hulk without that Mary Sue article. Bunch of whiners getting a taste, just a teensy tiny little taste, of what it’s like to never see a character like you on the screen.
I will be very sad if Sandman doesn’t get a second season.
Just opening at one NYC cinema for now, so I have no idea when it hits the regular movie theaters and even streaming, but this is definitely something on my short list:
Right? I love it…
Me too. It was just what I wanted for an adaptation of the comic. No superhero BS, just solid storytelling…
