Whatcha Watchin' (Season 2)

I’m almost done. Loving it, and I’m sure it will win the Emmy for “Best Use Of A Butthole Surfers Song”.

Just watched this last night:

I thought it was an excellent documentary - I remember when Biosphere 2 was happening, and this movie really drove home how my perceptions of it were shaped and distorted by the media.

It also drove home how what we think of as 80’s style was in full, poodle-permed force in the 90s.

Do they get into Steve Bsnnon’s involvement with the project?

Has anyone seen The Blackcoat’s Daughter… It was creepy and effective.

I saw it somehow when it was titled November. Very good.

Anyone seen the Midsommer directors cut? I’m curious but it was already kinda long…

Ooh, looking forward to these. They are two of my daughters’ favourite shows. I watch with them but I can’t stick a bunch in a row.

VinAndSori are one of the most interesting of the reaction channels.

She’s a white woman who was raised in a hyper-conservative Christian household and was forbidden to view any modern secular culture. He’s a Black guy who is also a Christian fundie, but is nevertheless aware of the realities of race and class in modern America.

They watch Jordan Peterson, they watch Abby Martin. Their political contradictions are fascinating.

Sorry for the off-topic aside, but is/was there a Whatcha Readin’? Would be interesting, I think.

There used to be, but they’re long closed. You could start a new one.

Not sure I can say it is a movie one enjoys. It’s difficult, and rightly so.

Did a rewatch of this:

Got to say, it was the most 2020 show I’ve seen all year. It’s easily some of the best, but darkest and most depressing work of Russell T Davies (he wrote several of the episodes and of course, Torchwood was/is his baby).

“ After wrapping work on Supernatural this fall, Jared Padalecki will segue to a reboot of Walker, Texas Ranger , which is slated to debut in January 2021 on The CW. Jensen Ackles, meanwhile, is joining the cast of Amazon’s The Boys (more on that late-breaking piece of news here).”

For freakin’ Bobby’s sake, they need to be done already.

Now that addition I can get down with; I’ve been waiting for S2 of the Boys

Lmao @ “smells like warm chocolate chip cookies.” I bet he does, too…

Last night I watched episode 1 of

Enjoyed the episode overall. Looks beautiful, nice acting, like the characters. I suspect racists will be bitching about it today as the beast that is racism out menaces the elder gods (as it should).

There were a few script points not clear to me but I suspect that might be due to hitting the flowers too hard last night. I’m going to re-watch tonight with a slightly clearer head.

What did others think?
