Yep, the car’s right there, right in the middle of the street.

It’s not quite a Jaguar.

Love this Wham! ad for Maxell cassettes where that change the lyrics to “Freedom”* to “you’re the fish face I adore”, because they told the ad agency that “Fish Face” was a British term of endearment for a gag, and then ran with it.

*Best George Michael song called Freedom. FACT!

I saw Madness in 1984 and must say that it is easily on my list of top ten concerts. Fun fact: Ministry was the opening act. This in the days when Al Jourgenson was singing with a phony British accent and before Ministry developed an industrial sound.

Screw the car, just give me the Motocompo, and no one gets hurt.

I love tiny ‘80’s Japanese cars! My second favorite car I ever had was a Toyota Starlet, 3 (!!!) cylinder, manual transmission, in a weird eggshell brown. The tires were like 15 inches!

(Not my actual car but that’s what it looked like)

Why I used to get 50 hectares on a thimble-full of kerosene in that beauty! Once I drove through a puddle and stalled it out on the interstate, but by god it started right back up again!

I HATE the never ending trend of BIGASSFUCKING SUV MERICAN CARS!

My current ride is a 2014 Mazda3.

ETA - Madness fucking rock

They also used bits from a French TV ad for the IVECO Daily in their video for Wings of a Dove. (The van shown in the plane first is, obviously, a Ford Transit, then cut to the Daily being airdropped.)
Fun song, fun video.

It was in my (British, pre-Wham!) family, for what it’s worth.

It’s funny that the outside ads are clearly shot in LA…

Has no one posted this one so far?

Mine is a 2016 Mazda 3 (manual transmission, natch). :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Madness weren’t limited to advertising cars; they also advertised watches
