I’m not sure what this is a response to. What I wrote above, I meant specifically that the GAO is writing reports on risks to the infrastructure pretty regularly, and those were the last big topics I remembered.
It makes it more than a little frustrating that we’re still so at risk, given that the same general issues come up whether the threat is from acts of terrorism, hacking, solar flares or natural disasters. I mean, in terms of what the department of energy and industry in general could do about it.
What our law enforcement should be doing is a whole different enchilada.

Just some random thought about every 5 years to that happening 10 years ago.
Of course vandalism happens all the time.
Nearly 600 electric emergency incidents and disturbances were caused by suspected and confirmed physical attacks and vandalism on the electric grid in those nine years, the reports show.
