I like the idea that there was a 6-string bass floating around Abby Road studios and any Beatle might just pick it up and start playing, be it Paul, John, or George, or even Ringo on a lark. No one knows whose it is anymore or when they might have bought it, it’s just among the grab-bag of toys.

I really like the idea that George Martin bought it for the studio but the Beatles got ahold of it and George M just said, “oh bloody hell, let them have it”

Does it matter, it was prob a Tuesday, and they where pissed (in the British sense not the yank one) or hungover and just played it to get it done.
