Why is New York City perceived as the most dangerous city in the Galaxy?

Can’t speak for Cleveland, but in Chicago? Lots of Burnham designed buildings!

I chose Burnham and Olmsted because they each designed iconic features in all three cities. My point was that there are tremendous similarities, with some differences in names.

Yeah, I think it’s mostly this. The NYC subway system is almost as old as Boston’s, but Boston still feels more logical. And the London Underground was also easier for me to navigate.

Still, I can’t complain. I live in Munich, and our underground network is one of the youngest, opened in time for the 1972 Olympic Games.

you can’t trust a city that never sleeps. it might break in, nab the car keys, and drive wildly through the neighborhood till sunup. and it definitely wouldn’t return the car seat head rest to its proper position afterwards.

it’s pure chaos out there

Queens and B’klyn are geographically on the island of Long Island, although – yes – they are never spoken of as being part of Long Island since time and custom and convenience has required an agreed on ‘separation’ between said boroughs and everything else to the east.

BTW: When referring to occurrences, places and people in “Long Island”, we always said “… out on Long Island”.

That was only a wretched hive. Watch out for those bustling metropolises of scum and villainy!

The winner for me is Paris. I find it the easiest to navigate and the cars are overall the nicest (though I haven’t been to Germany, so take that with a grain of pretzel salt). The London Tube isn’t my cup of tea, to be honest. The cars are too low to stand in for me, the system is overall very dark, and the layout was confusing to me. YMMV.

Los Angeles actually has an excellent subway that few people even seem to realize exists. It’s clean, modern, fast, and cheap. Of course, the places you can go on it are pretty limited relative to the enormous size of the city, but when you can use it, it’s a godsend.

Paris? Where it’s impossible to go anywhere without at least one, and usually two, line changes?

If I had my adult life to do over again, I think I’d love city planning, and especially things like public trans. No city gets it right.

What are TV shows and movies? Alex.

The Tokyo system is pretty extensive and really the best way to get around that city. But the lines are a bit confusing with a mix of different run systems going through it. One of the best out there.
