I can’t imagine anything more dull than using out-of-the-box templates to guide all my design decisions. The fact that themes and bundles are so affordable to crank out is actually a symptom of the phenomenon that websites, due to mobile constraints corralling client expectations, are easier to code-up than ever. I used to hate bootstrap coding whether for scripting or for bundles of css. But honestly it’s easy to use and convenient. It works for well more than 80% of the design needs of people out there and makes my life much easier as a result.
Are some of the designs garbage? Sure. But I really don’t care if someone wants something I find less than aesthetically pleasing. It’s their site.
