I agree. Although SMB has had several HUGE bugs that make cringe, WCry and CVE-2017-7494, I wouldn’t want SMB public facing.

I have several utilities that allow me to mount most cloud services directly as drives which is handy, from AWS S3 to GoogleDrive, DropBox to SFTP to WebDav.

For anyone interested in setting up their own cloud server on their own hosting, NextCloud/OwnCloud are free options, and they have clients for most mobile devices.

I used Spideroak before switching to Tresorit.
