Yeah Malaysia as well. A modern hotel would have aircon and small self closing doors. A colonial style hotel would be wide open for better ventilation.

I’ve been in quite a few (very) modern hotels that maintain the “let the breezes blow” style of the past too. It’s not hard to have huge doors that can be opened in good conditions beside sally ports that are efficient when it’s not. One hotel in Seoul comes to mind.
