While fire is certainly dangerous, the failure during high wind speeds sends debris over a fairly large area.

To be honest, I’m skeptical of this story. It’s a little too “pitch perfect tragedy”. The original story linked on the Reddit is a 404. Googling the story now only seems to result in reprints of facts claimed in the Reddit thread, and weird AI-generated articles that are clearly collages of what the internet forums are saying.
Does anyone have a primary source on this story?
