Woman adds vaginal yeast to sourdough starter, Internet flips out

I was thinking about getting an ozone generator for… A thing. How… Effective… Are they?

(Old mildewy instrument cases that stank. I’m not a supervillain, boingboing!!)

Have you tried getting and using a Costco-sized bag of baking soda yet?

It works for like a week then the smell comes back. It’s maddening.

i didn’t read anywhere that it’s her first time making bread. she sounds like a seasoned sourdough maker with her knowledge of sourdough culture and temperatures.

Either way she let the wold know that she did something ultimately quite gross and pointless - an established sourdough culture has bacteria and yeast which would by far outcompete candida albicans at room temperature and is highly unlikely to affect the bread at all. so what move on.

Are there any other activities not considered illegal that you find distasteful and want the world to stop doing? B/c your ideas on how the world should run are critical to our understanding of how things should proceed.

I believe the “Hysterics About The Death Of American(?)/Internet(?) Culture” post is <a href=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ>Thataway.

I’ve been licking my eyebrows as I read this.
YUM!!

Misandry.

There are some made for cars, just attach 12V power. Could be worth trying.

or the lab method with graphite cathode, platinum anode, and 3M sulfuric acid.

Same over here, I’m in for a solution apart from ‘buy a new thing’.
(Nooo, I did not replace the watercirculationthingie and some other parts to buy a new instrument).

Yeah, like other makers who do stuff with the body: it’s gross and pointless. Why don’t they just consume mass culture in a more normal way and buy pre-packaged stuff like god intended? Mutants shouldn’t be happy.

Another possibility. Titanium dioxide nanoparticle photocatalyst, and an ultraviolet LED. (Check if the photocatalyst grade can be activated with 405 nm or if it requires shorter wavelengths aka a mercury lamp; significantly shorter wavelength LEDs are still eye-popping expensive. There are doped grades of the photocatalyst that can run on visible blue, but I didn’t see them on sale yet, or did not notice.)

…I was thinking about no-stink trashcans, made of UV-transparent polycarbonate dyed to be visible-light opaque, with the photocatalyst on the inner side. No more whiff of overwhelming malodor when opening the lid after a day on the sun.

You are very drab. My original posting was in good humour I.e more horrified by the poor sourdough forming than the use of vagibal yeast, but you chose to suck all the fun and levity. Congratulations on making my day that little bit more unpleasant.
