“…vanishes during lunch date”.
If that headline were accurate, I’d be speed-dialling Ghostbusters.

I was part of a discussion on Tumblr recently where an American was trying to explain that phenomenon, only as relates to gas stations. The participants from the EU were trying to frame it in a way that made sense, so were suggesting things that made sense like two gas stations in competition with one another, or one on each side of a busy motorway. All perfectly valid reasons, but not quite the situation that was being described.
I posted a screenshot of this location in my town …
… and explained that these are both Kwik Trip gas stations, approximately 400 feet (~140m) from building to building, across the street from one another. While Highway 50 is a rather busy main route, neither station has an entrance on that street. (The map as pictured is slightly out of date since the North station was rebuilt over the Summer.) Their respective entrances are along the N/W street, 88th Ave., a much less busy side street.
There’s at least one other location in Kenosha like this for Kwik trip and it’s not hard to find the same setup for other gas stations.
That shop’s Sofa King good.
Give him an Apple AirTag and tell him it’s his lucky ducky super coin!
Stuff like this happened to my mom and dad when he started slipping due to memory issues ahem…
You couldn’t put the word “husband” in the title?
I would argue that the headline should have been “Florida woman calls police after Florida man….”
Just to be consistent with the site’s norms.
