And they cut away? People have been waiting 11 years for this.
A Yanomami warrior with an 8 foot long arrow would not have missed.
He would have hit the throat dead center.
Disappointed. I thought shot by a woman with a flaming arrow in the throat was some sort of innuendo.
Quarrels, surely?
Doctor: What brings you in today?
Patient: I have a burning sensation in my throat.
My family actually did a similar act at a camp talent show this summer.
do not try at home.
don’t lecture me about my sex life, boingboing.
Late, late that evening, Ryan asked AmberLynn what she thought would solve the problem. She replied, “Bonus notches, mi amor.”
Umm, so anyway, their act didn’t get chosen to advance to the finals.
Or: do not try this ever.
Now I have to make new plans for this weekend. I already rented the crossbow and ladder!
wait nobody posted ‘Go to your friends home’ yet?
You gotta admit: the guy has flair.
It appears he has flare.
During the auditions, he stuck a meat hook up his nose, and then swung from it: https://youtu.be/uzTxH3zaIms (and was voted through to the next round)
For the next round, he held a running chainsaw in his teeth and then swallowed a running drill with a really long bit: https://youtu.be/gTUf_9DY9JA (and was voted through to the next round)
Then, Ryan and AmberLynn’s dreams of the big time were tragically ended by the flaming arrow mishap: https://youtu.be/v1tOtOlUYmY
Definitely one of the weirdest acts on America’s Got Talent this year. Right up there with the guy who swallowed an axle from a car, and followed that by swallowing a sword and pulling a car attached to the sword with ropes across the stage.
I used to be an adventurer like you…
Vocabulary builder of the day!
The Aristocrats!
Only if your crossbow is really cross. Mildly peeved ones just have tiffs.
“If she had just missed, it actually would have gone probably through my neck but because of the way it slipped, it kinda came at an angle with less power,” Stock said.
If she was firing an actual crossbow bolt with a standard crossbow it would’ve pierced him no matter what. They’re using a crossbow that fires at a very low speed (did a quick calculation and a normal low end crossbow fires almost ten times as fast as the crossbow in the video) and the bolt isn’t made to pierce anything except the target, which is why you see the bolt bounce off. Not saying it wouldn’t produce a nice bruise on the man’s shoulder (where it looks to actually hit), but I doubt he was ever in any real danger unless his clothes caught fire.
