In summer 2018, I interviewed at Verkada. The technical interview had many red flags that I even wrote a letter outlining the diversity problems in how it was handled. I may be Cis-male W. McHetro, but I don’t do well in toxic environments with known discriminatory interview practices.
There’s a bit of me that nods knowingly with this news. These events happened well after the interview, but it’s good to know that my instincts were on the mark. And bad to know that my instincts were on the mark.

Unfortunately, given that the (most visible) perp was a sales director we can probably safely assume that the behavior is indicative both of what you could get away with internally and the sort of people who were suspected of being effective in interacting with relevant authority figures within prospective customer organizations.
