Eh, most bullets are lead and copper, non-ferric. He would have been ok.

I really doubt the induced current in the copper from the hundreds of kilovolt electromagnetic field surrounding an MRI machine would be much fun - and given the voltages involved no amount of separation from ground is likely to be sufficient. Copper generally does a bunch of weird stuff in strong electromagnetic fields. Definitely not recommended.
