This is the time of year that Eddie Money opened the summer concert season at Pine Knob for 27 consecutive years, we were at quite a few of them.
I got to missing him so I played around on YouTube.
This was the day after he died.
Jennifer Holliday did this first for the Olympics.
Eddie doing The Miracles
This is one of my all time favorites that he covered.
That’s amazing!
Speaking of bluegrass covers…
The mandolin player was on my dissertation committee… RIP, Denis!
Maybe. More likely the environment was virtualised. You can measure the impulse response in an environment and set that up as a convolution reverb.
I know that sounds awfully joyless but it’s part of the reason that sound reinforcement is so, so much better now. I actually get annoyed when I see someone carting a big cabinet to a gig now as I know the sound will be worse than if they virtualised it.
Apart from Sunn O)))) who I went to see the other week, because that’s the whole point with them.
It’s a Nick Lowe cover, and what a cover it is.
ETA: Sorry for the pedantry.
I was about to say it’s Nick Lowe, but had trouble phrasing a reply without sounding too pedantic. Thanks!
Nah it’s ok. I thought it was weird. But hell, it still sounds good
That dude had some pipes.
I do see what you mean about the weird aspect. It’s a bit outside Cornell’s typical type of tune.
That was a lovely, mellow version.
I could hear some odd squeaking, like wooden squeaks during the quieter parts, which was a bit annoying.
Still, very glad you introduced me to these guys.
I’ll take such minor human flaws over accurate but soulless “AI” generated “music” any day.
Absolutely.
