I got to missing him so I played around on YouTube.

Maybe. More likely the environment was virtualised. You can measure the impulse response in an environment and set that up as a convolution reverb.
I know that sounds awfully joyless but it’s part of the reason that sound reinforcement is so, so much better now. I actually get annoyed when I see someone carting a big cabinet to a gig now as I know the sound will be worse than if they virtualised it.
Apart from Sunn O)))) who I went to see the other week, because that’s the whole point with them.

That was a lovely, mellow version.
I could hear some odd squeaking, like wooden squeaks during the quieter parts, which was a bit annoying.
