Your new social credit score

If you do it well enough, you will be a threat, and the state will try to eradicate you.

You think it would take them that long?

Still, if a social credit score actually happened then I think some form of libertarian-socialism with dual power would still be the best way to go. Sometimes you need to choose to fight even if you know you will probably lose.

I mean, I guess they’re trying to eradicate us now, but I feel like that might intensify.

Anyway, I agree with everything you said and I don’t even believe Communism is possible. I just think we ought to try for a better world.

I have heard that argument before, usually from people who have little money but are quite good at making friends. They think, with reasons, that their ability is unrewarded in a capitalistic society.

Where that reasoning fails is that “social credit” is still a capitalistic society. The objective of the people paying to run the big data system is not to reward social abilities or good behaviour. Their objective is to increase their powers and make more money at your expenses. Just think about it.

It is called “social credit”, which makes it 2 lies in 2 words.

My main response to this video was (sarcastically or not - you decide) that we need a system just like this immediately, but specifically and solely for anyone standing for election and everyone elected.

Yes, I got to the bit with the ‘harmful’ decision-making and thought - that would be great for politicians if only they’d allow it.

Head Waiter: I’m sorry Prime Minister but your credit card has been declined. Perhaps the roll out of universal credit is not going quite as well as Madame might wish?

Or: (Outside No. 10 on a Wednesday) I’m sorry Mrs May, you’ll have to walk to the Commons today. It seems last week’s PMQ performance was sufficiently sub-par to revoke chauffeur privileges temporarily. We trust you’ll enjoy the hostile environment on your walk. We recommend providing some actual answers to whatever you are asked today.

(This could turn out to be a good party game for all the family after xmas lunch.)

If it makes you feel any better, Murray Bookchin was opposed to Marxism.

So we can expect this to result in MPs acting in our favour, or at least doing what the majority want so they can stay in credit?
It’ll never catch on…
