If you play one Zelda game it should be Link’s Awakening for the Game Boy.

Link’s Awakening has long been my favorite but Breath of the Wild is incredible. It’s easy to see how Aonuma and company spent so long working on it.
Hyrule Historia won’t exactly clear it up. There’s a loose continuity but it’s easier to think of it as a reoccurring cycle.
