This is very much an Isan regional style, I gather (or so my translation partner tells me - she proceeded to push Lanna regional music at me, which is very different. 
) Here is an ad for custom double-necked phins. The lad here is Nong Mee. (Nong is the honorific for a younger person.)
Lots of links from this to other electric phin demos done for this company by a variety of players. I’d say most have their individual styles, but there’s a definite family resemblance to Khun Beer’s playing and the Khun Narin Band. I’d say a certain psychedelic sound is endemic to the region…
