I’ve never told mine about Santa. I use phrases like “Well, what do you hear about Santa?” and “Lot’s of people say Santa…” But I’ve never told her that anyone comes into our house with a bag of anything. A lot of her peers have and I ask what she believes or what she hears about it, but, similar to religion, I don’t tell her what she should believe.

Drew_G: We actually did not buy the “official” one, or at least, we did
not buy the one featured on this Boing Boing post. We still call it Elf
on the Shelf because there is a cultural connection between our kids
and their friends.
