It’s disturbing how topical this is. Living at an epicenter of woo, the bay area, I’m constantly confronted with very intelligent people who suspend all disbelief and invest time, money, and health in bullshit cures and therapies. The mind, it is boggled.
When I was in junior high we had to take “home economics” (a combination of health and hygiene and learning to bake cookies). We used a textbook from the early sixties that had a chapter on quacks. The teacher told us it wasn’t really relevant anymore. Sadly it seems like, even though some of this film is pretty dated, it’s even more relevant now than it was then.
How funny that it is still effective propaganda.
I won’t spoil the ending for you.
After reading THAT I just had to skip to the end to see what happened. Drinking that mysterious South Seas herbal tea for an extended length of time sure gave her a nice case of the Innsmouth look.
