Do they not know what words mean?

The claim to his progressiveness seems to entirely on the fact that he’s openly gay… Did they forget the Andrew Sullivan and Yolo Minneapolis exist?

I mean, yes, of course the fact that a gay (white, middle class, cis-gendered, traditional with regards to marriage, etc) man can run for office at such a high level is certainly evidence of progress on some LBGQT+ rights… there are still huge mountains to climb with regards to equality for all members of the LBGQT+ community. Our society doesn’t even adequately protect some of the most vulnerable people in that community at all.

God, it really is just a bunch of neo-liberal jackasses patting themselves on the back for things being a little better for some…

ETA: Biden wouldn’t be the most progressive Dem to to be nominated. He wouldn’t even be the most progressive Republican.

I’m finding myself drawn back to Murray Bookchin’s “The Bernie Sanders Paradox: When Socialism Grows Old” and comparing it to the Bernie Sanders of today, as well as the current Sandernistas.

He’s the best choice currently on the left (I can’t see Warren turning her campaign around, especially with the media ignoring her), but we can still do better.

Much like when the various news outlets had people like Reince Prebus and Chris Christie on their Dem Primary coverage. Or CNN posting op-eds from RNC operatives. WTF? Those shits don’t have any right to be commenting on the proceedings.

Wow, I hadn’t seen that; thanks for linking.

That Sanders has out-Republicaned the Republicans should not be taken lightly. Viewed in terms of its overall economic policies, the Sanders administration bears certain fascinating similarities to the Reagan administration. What Sanders has adopted with a vengeance is “trickle-down” economics — the philosophy that “growth” for profit has a spillover effect in creating jobs and improving the public welfare.
[…]
THE ULTIMATE EFFECT Of Sanders’ aging form of “socialism” is to facilitate the ease with which business interests can profit from the city.

Not even the second most progressive Republican.

We might have to throw U. S. Grant in there somewhere, as the “Radical Republican” president who carried out Reconstruction during the 19th century …

I don’t care who they wanted to vote for, but this is unacceptable. it’s disenfranchisement by the back door.

This is a far bigger threat to a Democratic Party win than Bernie-or-bust and should be treated as such

My daughter is in an African-American history class, and the homework tonight was to create a political cartoon, choosing from one of about 15 subject options. This is what she did:
