2020 Election Thread (formerly: 2020 Presidential Candidates Thread) (Part 1)

My intention was to move that down to 16. Not clear on my part.

You can register at 17 and vote in the primary if you will turn 18 by the time of the general election in November. Learned that while voting in the last primary, when my kid texted me to ask why her friends were going to vote and she wasn’t. I turned and asked the election judges, who explained that detail. Ran home, got her documentation, and met her at the polling station to register on the spot and vote.

With Oregon’s Motor-Voter law, when a 16-18 y.o. gets their driver’s license, they are automatically registered to vote on their 18th birthday.

Warren just made what was probably one of the hardest decisions of her career-- she deserves a few moments of joy.

But was it America? Or just some Bros - who totally don’t exist. And I need proof they exist. And what else can someone do? It’s just the deep media foisting this on gullible ladies brains.

Hey - maybe it could be addressed in a discussion on Joe Rogan.

Harris: That person who is endorsing Joe Biden… is me.
Biden: Whaaaaaaaaaa?!?

  1. This is unsourced speculation, supposedly based upon “discussions inside the Biden camp”.

  2. It’s a puff piece, not a hatchet job. Axios is a Biden-friendly outlet. This isn’t an opponent stirring up trouble, this is the image that the Biden camp are choosing to project.

Kamala Harris must be feeling pretty giddy right now…

He’s been saying this publicly for months, for example here as long ago as last November.

Why would there be any suspicion that Biden, who enthusiastically endorsed a woman four years ago and ran with an African-American in 2008 and 2012, is lying about this?

I think you missed the actual point by a significant margin…

It wouldn’t be the first time.

If the idea is that Biden’s people are using a friendly outlet to release ‘news’ that isn’t really news, then no surprise there, candidates across the spectrum do that all the time.

I imagine op eds already exist making this point, but it seems to me that the ever-growing fear of this virus is helping Biden and hurting Sanders.

Joe seems safe, while Sanders seems risky. People want safe right now.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers is giving former Vice President Joe Biden the union’s presidential endorsement after holding a national vote by the union’s members.

Biden won 36% of the vote versus 26% for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). Donald Trump took 34% of ballots cast. Members were free to vote for any candidate from any party on the ballot, and members supported a Democrat over a Republican by nearly 2-1.

Huh. What do you make of that?

Is that the same advisor (Symone Sanders) who helped defend Biden against the berserker anti-dairy protester the other day? If so, she needs to put in for combat pay.
