The only real violence in Portland has been the police, Feds, and counter-protesters. Property damage isn’t violence.

It reveals their priorities - property (owned by the wealthy or corporations) and profit over people.

Portland has spent the last several years building up an immunity to hate tourists.

Expect to see more of this in “safe” states – those that are heavily red or blue enough that it won’t significantly move the needle in a way that matters (to Trump).

Cults are at their most dangerous when they are coming apart.

ETA: If you look at the DHS letter, look at the words used most often. At who they’re accusing. This is straight up stochastic terrorism. They’re pumping up the base… external enemies aren’t enough, this time. They need to delegitimize any loss – if they lose it’s because of these “traitor anarchists.” It’s not the will of the American people.

I am very scared as to what’s coming.

I saw a mention of people being “disappeared” in Portland. If this is true,it may be the warm-up for a “national emergency” to be declared in the fall. Very scared of what’s next indeed.

I was including them in the category of “hate tourists.” I like to be inclusive.

Excuse me?

(tl;dr, “it’s complicated”, but also it is still a monument to an SS division, so… yikes?)

Shit. Talk about someone whose leadership and experience in resistance we could use right now. :sleepy:

Damn. I wish he could have at least made it long enough to see that bloated bigot out of office. Lord knows he earned that, and far more. The march goes on.
