2020 Uprising: Enough is Enough

Ehh, I did some reading about police radios when I started tinkering with some cheap (but crazy capable) Baofeng units. I’d be surprised if the DSS encrypted radios had remote brick capabilities. You are talking about the BYOD features built into smartphone OS’s, not radios. Even the fancy radios I read about haven’t had anything mentioned beyond a key to decrypt their common bands.

Okay so the police would need to physically update the key on every radio in their fleet, to effectively disable the stolen radio.

I suspect so. I could be wrong, but that seems to be the case from what I’ve read.

Funny thing is, I have a channel to find out. I know a guy on the CPD force. I just don’t have the kind of “random question” relationship with him that you’d need to call in that ask. He’s the ex-longtime roommate of another friend of mine, unfortunately a friend who has been growing more and more distant.

Yeah I know a guy who builds radio networks for our state police force. We are in the same amateur radio club and he is a great source of technical tips and tricks, but I know better than to ask him for their keys.

And no, don’t come at me with that “it’s just an OK sign” bullshit. Whatever tiny credibility that excuse had died when the NZ Mosque shooter used it.

A compilation of last night’s bullshit

The departments have to realize everyone is going to see these incidents the following morning? Ah I just don’t think they give a fuck.

They don’t. Because they know enough people who actually have the power to do anything about them won’t actually do anything about them.

The cops are an occupying force.

The essay was written before the protests going on tonight really kicked off. But I think the tweet succinctly describes what’s happening. Consent to be policed by the current forces and PTB is being withdrawn.

Or, rather the process of withdrawing consent has been going on for a while while the cops have been ignoring said process, insisting that “No” doesn’t really mean “No”.
