It makes no sense for antifa (or anarchists) to be doing the rioting and looting, it holds little value as praxis. My understanding is that they are doing support work to keep the communities functioning and people safe.
I think that antifa is being used by the press as a snarl word that doesn’t actually tell you anything useful. They may as well be telling us that the rioter is of average height and build.

Well more specifically, in the U.S. the corporate press mostly uses it to demonize and delegitimize civil unrest. The useful thing that usage can reveal is that the corporate press owners fear effective civil unrest/protest.

Around Philly - there doesn’t seem any indication it’s them. It’s general rioting and, looting- some fire setting. There’s no appearance of any organizing group.
