It’s owned by a US company as of 2019. The purchase caused some turmoil for the sellers due to rambler.ru trying to claim ownership of the tech. They wound up dropping the case after some outcry. nginx may have some developers based in Novisibirsk if I recall correctly.

They really ought to try whatever recipe they used on Yushchenko. Maybe more concentrated this time.

I’m sure someone in his circle still has the recipe. I’m certain Putin has considered the possibility, as well.

Nginx is opensource and subject to scrutiny. The commercial version was purchased by the once awesome, now terrible F5 networks who are determined to utterly destroy the commercial business of Nginx plus. That version is not opensource but has been in the hands of a US company for nearly half a decade now.

So in short, Nginx is fine.

Looks like the Koch’s are getting some attention due to their continuing operations in Russia.

It’s not just legal detail. I’ve skimmed a thread on Twitter, which made a few very good points, mostly about while a No Fly Zone won’t work.

Unless you have NATO planes constantly patrolling the skies – of the 2nd largest country in Europa – Russian planes will have come and gone before they react. And constantly patrolling would mean a unprecedented number of planes, refuelling, etc,

Europe’s military is mostly for defence – the German by political design, the four allies and Poland were quite explicit about that back in the 90s – and so are there to fight over their own territory or to deliver nukes to Moscow.
