Canadian ambassador to the UN responds to Russian ambassadorās letter by editing it and sending it back
Conflict diamonds
If confirmed, this would be the highest-ranking Russian officer killed ā the equivalent in NATO of a two-star general.
And, @anothernewbbaccount, the Russians have replied, apparently
I meanā¦what do they expect from the rest of the world, who know full well that Russian representatives are lying like cheap rugs?
and reminding Canada that it twice failed to secure enough support to win a non-permanent seat on the powerful UN Security Council.
Canada got more votes than the Russian Federation.
Any trans person lucky enough to not have a male gender marker on their passport is able to escape, but unfortunately many trans women face situations like thisā¦
Iām still looking for a way to reach the Ukranian border, and Iāll also have to find someone to help me cross the border illegally. I just feel like nobody will want to help me, and that makes everything so much scarier.
This is the most Canadian thing I have seen in a long time.

Bob Rae is the best Prime Minister we never had. Iāve met him briefly, heard him speak a few times in person and know some of his friends and heās one of the best politicians of the last 30 years. āAmbassador to the UNā is where we send the best folks when our regular political machine needs to get them out of the way (e.g. Stephen Lewis previously).
Iām sure Bob Rae was tempted to put a big red circled āFā grade at the top with an ominous request to āplease see me after the session, Vassilyā. He didnāt but somehow I see it anyway.
Speculate away. They left wearing solid blue suits but changed into yellow with blue accents when they arrived.

Russia constructing earthen berms to protect military positions northwest of Kyiv, satellite images show
So why would you build defilade positions? Well, because you arenāt planning on moving for a while (days or more). Either you are expecting to be on the defense from an assault, or youāre waiting to advance again, maybe after resupply
The berms look to have been dug by hand since there are no tracks or scrape marks from bulldozers. Those may be foxholes to the lower right of each defilade position. Both suggest these are hasty positions and they expect to be on the move again soon.
