Loosing? Let loose? (Hmm: Losing)

Yep:

I am one who also believes that definition and usage are not always the same thing. One tends to be out of sync with the other for a while - sometimes for a long time - before they fully align (and some cases never will, for some of us).

Putin does not trust the army, a sentiment likely validated by its poor performance

As we know, there’s a theory that the army is weak because Putin distrusts it.

The YouTube comments on this video from people who claim former military service are grim, sad, and horrible:

I heard if u get prestige master in the game u get something called PTSD where u are able to rewatch epic montages of your gameplay at anytime

This game was amazing. I can’t wait for the military divorce DLC.

Objective: Secure custody of your child

And so on.

The biggest drawback to “humanitarian corridors” when the encircling army is without morals or ethics is that they now know exactly where to find the unarmed, unprotected civilians to take hostages and rob, rape and pillage to their hearts’ content. And when your own army is pretty much getting it’s ass kicked 5 ways from Sunday, picking on unarmed civilians must look like a safer bet.

Nestlé, the world’s largest maker of packaged foods, has six factories in Russia making goods including candy brands Komilfo and Sudarushka. The company spokeswoman said all six factories are operational and 90% of what Nestlé sells in Russia is produced locally. The company earlier this month said it had a responsibility to its more than 7,000 employees in Russia and would continue to “ensure a reliable supply of safe and essential food products for the local people.”

The other day I heard in person the claim that the attacks on the humanitarian corridors are all from the Azov battalion. Who I guess must therefore have a significant presence all over Ukraine, including areas the Russians control since nobody needs corridors elsewhere, and nothing more important to use their forces against. It’s also a shame NATO made all this happen instead of leaving Ukraine neutral, incidentally…other countries would be smart to stay out.

I am not longer so convinced Russian propaganda is having trouble finding its marks here.

If that had been the case, and the world reacted with outrage when the country was invaded by a larger, better armed neighbour, we would be enthusiastically supplying the Syrians with weapons and helping them to defeat Turkey and its jihadist proxies, and slapping sanctions on the oil-soaked gulf monarchies who were paying for all this.

I mean, I agree, it’s just a surprising take to hear from a fellow NATO member.

There was never going to be the reaction to Syria on par with Ukraine simply because Syria was already a brutal dictatorship with leaders prone to genocide before Russia & Iran stepped in. If half of Assad’s military didn’t run off on their own, he would be just as destructive to his own people.

every third container in Russia belongs to Maersk. According to Alphaliner, Maersk is one of four operators (Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM and COSCO) who control 58% of Russia’s shipping market.

I would like to know how these companies are planning to “pull out” the containers which are currently in Russia.

Oh man, somebody is going to ‘accidentally fall out of an window’ for a mess up that huge.

When an oil-rich nation’s wealth ends up in the pockets of the very few and little of it gets to their military and/or — if it does — money gets skimmed via manufacturer and supplier forced kickbacks.

Chechen volunteers who are opposed to Kadyrov have joined the war on the Ukrainian side, which makes for some unexpected imagery:

I remember when I first played Pokemon Blue in middle school I used the game’s only master ball to catch a Bellsprout. Not a Mewtwo, not a Arcticuno, not even a Moltres… but an effing Bellsprout.

I have the strong suspicion that Putin had a similar brainfart.
