The Truce of the Bear.

I didn’t make that connection. I would bet my hard hat that the iconography isn’t coincidence, but I am not aware of ties of the two. But then, I don’t doubt it, I don’t give a shit, and all fascists shall go to hell.

The German assholes formed out of the NPD and are in some ways close to the so-called IdentitÀren Bewegung. The latter basically are a neo-fascist hipster group, trying to make look Nazism cool. They are very aware of their iconography, as you can see.

By the way, the German Wikipedia page on the Dritter Weg arseholes is worth reading. Deepl and GTranslate should work fine.

Also, for the record, the phrase “der dritte Weg” usually carries a positive connotation in Germany, as it is strongly connected with sozialer Marktwirtschaft in the public perception. So much it is basically synonymous, despite very many different things being which can be meant by the phrase. Caveat lector: the English versions of the linked wiki page on Soziale Marktwirtschaft as well als Dritter Weg do not fully reflect the carried content, I think. The way Anglo-Saxon readers understand the Third Way and Social market economy differs a bit from the German perspective (as is somewhat mentioned, but not expanded, in the articles).

Sorry if this was TMI. One can easily write a dissertation on this

This is the first of the seized superyachts I have personally seen and hated. Especially because it docked in the berth of our tall ship, which is just sacrilege.

The yacht was in London for a World Superyacht Awards judging panel event that took place on Monday at the five-star Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge.

Nice honeypot.

I read it as, “If you allow us to withdraw without mauling us any more than you already have
”

We’d trap more russian superyachts by tasking that fuckwit Shapps with facilitating them sailing away. He’d find some way to bungle it so badly they’d never move again.

Please don’t do this. I know @anon67050589’s tenure here well enough to know that they are perfectly capable of defending their own opinions without comments like this (and has done so, in fact). Additionally, admonishments like these often serve to do little more than derail or discourage debate on these topics to begin with. You (or anyone) are welcome to flag posts you believe violate our guidelines.

blames Ukrainian shelling for the ammo dump explosion

Well, either the Ukrainians did this, which is fine; destroying enemy ammo dumps is a good idea, setting aside that it was apparently on the Russian side of the border - but where are the borders when the enemy has invaded and is resupplying from just across the border

OR
well, the wording here sounds a tad defensive. Blaming Ukrainian shelling for some local incompetence (or deliberate sabotage)?

If it’s not a false accusation to distract from an own goal, then I see no reason why the Ukrainians should not just shrug their shoulders.

(I’d also suggest: “Yeah Russia - when we see you have moved back from Kyiv and stayed there rather than using it to reinforce, maybe we’ll stop lobbing shells across your border, in return.” Negotiations are ongoing, after all.)

And if they did? What? You can dish it out but can’t take it?

They like to blame everything on Ukrainian false flag attacks, so they prefer not to acknowledge that they’re dishing anything out.

The article describes RA as “former” owner of Chelsea FC. I believe he is officially still the owner, even if it is a slightly frozen asset. And that I believe is the reason he’s acting like a good guy, in hopes that when the club sells he can get part of the proceeds himself.
